The Flyby: Navy jet problems and analog planners
What's been on my mind...
T-45 Woes
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about the T-45’s engine problem once again rearing its ugly head. I assumed that it had been very temporary as I didn’t hear much more about it in the news, and the usual Instagram influencers were back to posting their routine content.
Well, I met a very reliable source (no, not from the Ensign rumor mill—the much more reliable LTJG rumor mill!) who just recently winged, and he said the T-45 is still indeed struggling.
My questions are:
How do they fix this issue?
Do they even want to?
There’s no confirmed replacement jet, and even if it were to be the T-7 Red Hawk, that’s now three years behind the Air Force’s original replacement date of 2023. Things aren’t looking great.
Analog Organization
On a slightly different note: I’ve gone back down the rabbit hole of productivity hacks. This time, it’s about how to integrate my digital calendar with the analog world—like a notebook or agenda.
The issue I’ve encountered before (and already failed miserably at) stems from needing to work in areas where electronics are forbidden.
The quick jotting down of an idea in Apple Notes or asking Siri to create a reminder—all nullified by the mighty SCIF.
I’ve seen videos like the one below, and I’m hoping I can come up with a robust system that actually works for me. Let me know if you have any suggestions!
